You know, it's not bad. Listen, when you don't make the playoffs, it can be kind of a long offseason, but I got a little four-year-old at home, so I've been able to be a full-time dad and play a lot of baseball in the driveway, a lot of hockey and all that stuff, but I'm a little itchy. We had our draft coverage.

the other day you got free agency in a few minor moves that have been made so it's been uh... it's been a fun off season but i i think i'm i'm about ready to start getting back to work soon yeah a hundred percent just like you mentioned the the team struggling to make the playoffs last year and ultimately not getting it done but it felt like some good steps in the right direction for the seattle crack and i mean just what were your overall thoughts on the twenty five twenty six campaign

Yeah, you know, I think, number one, you saw a big step ahead from the likes of O'Maddy Beneers, right? I think he wins the Calder a few years ago, and then he takes that sophomore slump and then maybe kind of even a junior slump, if you will. But he bounces back. He turns into a really solid two-way player. And he's winning more draws. He's more responsive defensively. He's picked up a little bit of weight, which he'll tell you himself, it's hard for him to pick up a lot of weight in the offseason. He says, I'll eat a plate full of nachos and I still lose 10 pounds. I don't know how it's done. But, you know, he found a way to be a responsible defensive player. forward this season, and yes, you want your $7 million franchise centerman to maybe get you 30-plus goals, but what he was able to do on the defensive side of the puck I think this year was so valuable for this team.

And listen, going into last season, my number one goal, and a lot of folks in the organization I think will agree with me, the basement goal for this Kraken team last year was playing meaningful games in March, you know, going into the trade deadline, going into April 1. For all intents and purposes, the Kraken did that. They weren't eliminated from playoff contention, I think, until game 79, game 78, something like that. Even though they had a second half to forget coming out of that Four Nations break, or the Olympic break, rather, I do think that Seattle, there was a lot to build off of. You had a great first half. You got good goaltending. Defensively, this team was strong. But the problem was they still couldn't score a lot of goals.
