How does visualizing in first‑person help you become a non‑smoker?
If you visualize in the exact way that I share with you in this episode, it's very likely that you will soon be a non-smoker. Because always remember, your subconscious mind learns through images and through emotions. And if we combine both in your visualization process... then you are signaling to your subconscious mind that you are already in a new identity, that you have gone from smoker to non-smoker. And that's exactly what you want your subconscious mind to understand on a deep level. And this leads us to the very first point that I want to share with you. And that's to remember that when you're visualizing your new life, when you're visualizing yourself being a non-smoker, when you are visualizing yourself living your new life and enjoying your new life to the fullest, it's always a good idea to visualize in the first person perspective.
I truly and wholeheartedly believe that. Because when you visualize in the first-person perspective, you are signaling to your subconscious mind that you are actually immersed in the experience. Whereas when you're visualizing in the third-person perspective, in the observer perspective, you are seeing somebody being a non-smoker. And that might be you, but it might also be somebody else.
What kind of sensory images should you create to reinforce a smoke‑free life?
But by you actually going into the visualization from the perspective of the first person, you are going in the experience, which means you are fully immersed in it. It's just like when you, for example, play a video game where you're racing cars, and if you see the car from behind, It is a different perspective than if you actually hold the steering wheel in your hands. It's much more immersive. And the more you immerse yourself in your visualization process, when you then close your eyes and you breathe in a relaxed way, and you really go into the images of your future, of you being a non-smoker, by you doing that, from the first-person perspective, your subconscious mind then understands, okay, that's me, that's my reality, because think about it.
We are living life from the first person perspective. You're not living your life from the third person perspective. But when you, for example, now have your eyes open and you look down on your body, you see your legs, you see your arms, you see your torso. You are experiencing life from the first person perspective. And by you visualizing your new life as a non-smoker from the first person perspective, it will be, of course, way easier for you to immerse yourself in the experience. And the more you immerse yourself into it, the easier it will be for you to become it. But now you might be saying, okay, seeing myself living life as a non-smoker, well, what life am I living?
Why are emotions essential for imprinting the new non‑smoker identity?
What pictures am I creating? What things am I seeing? That's something that you have to decide. It's a choice that you have to make. And it's a choice that might be simpler than you can possibly imagine, because you don't have to imagine something that is completely crazy. I mean, you can see yourself, for example, don't get me wrong, you can see yourself on a beautiful holiday that you can now easily afford because you're saving so much money as a non-smoker. In fact, I had several clients, in fact many clients, who shared with me a couple of months after they had completed the four-week hypnosis coaching program that I offer, and now that they are non-smokers, who shared with me that they have saved more money.
In just two or three months after the program, now that they are non-smokers, then they actually had to invest in the hypnosis coaching program. So yes, over time, you will save thousands of dollars. If not, when we think about decades and when we think about several years, hundreds of thousands of dollars that you're saving just because you are a non-smoker. So that could be an image where you see yourself enjoying your dream holiday because you now have the funds to actually, well, to enjoy it. It can also be simpler images of you walking in the park and you smelling the flowers and you fully immersing yourself in that image, how it would feel like to smell the flowers, how it would feel like to have your sense of smell back, how it would feel like to have your taste back.
