Why is one hypnosis session not enough to quit smoking after relapsing?

Certified Hypnotist & Cognitive Behavioral Coach 0:00
Today I want to share 7 tips with you specifically for people who in the past have already quit smoking and then you relapsed, you started again. And these tips are for you because in my four week hypnosis coaching program for smoking cessation, I've helped quite a few people to quit smoking for good who have tried to quit smoking in the past. and who then relapsed again. And there are a few tips that I want to share with you, a few things that you have to keep in mind when it comes to you not making this mistake again. And the very first thing that I want to share with you, in case you have ever tried hypnosis for smoking cessation, is that one session is not enough. And this is something that I've also experienced

With hypnosis clients, where they told me, Yeah, I mean I've tried hypnosis in the past, but it didn't work, and it's always the same dilemma. I then asked them, How many sessions did you have? How were the sessions structured? Did the next session build upon the previous one? And the answer in 99% of the cases is nah, I just had one session, or I had one session there and then another session with the same. thing again there and then maybe a couple of weeks later one more session that was basically the same thing. I mean that's not how we can create change. We need, well as a German I can say it like this, we need a structure. And when it comes to my hypnosis coaching program for smoking cessation, I have a very clear structure.

We attack the issue from all kinds of different angles.

How does a structured multi‑session hypnosis program create an identity shift?

Certified Hypnotist & Cognitive Behavioral Coach 1:38
In the first hypnosis session We focus on the behavioral level, the emotional level, and also in a beginning stage on the identity level, because our main goal is to completely shift your identity from a smoker to a non-smoker. And then we continue to change your habits, to make sure that you are disgusted by the smell of cigarettes and by the taste of cigarettes and by simply looking at cigarettes. And then and only then can we focus on fully completing the transformation process from the old identity as a smoker to the new identity as a non-smoker. Only then can we go through this identity shift. So when it comes to quitting smoking with the help of hypnosis, that's something that you have to keep in mind.

One session is not enough, we need a structure. Because you need to go through this identity shift, and only if you go through this identity shift completely will you be able to experience long-lasting results. Because you can do all kinds of things on a superficial level, but if your identity still says I'm a smoker, then you will always be tempted to take a cigarette and to smoke it. But if your identity level says I'm a non-smoker, then you will act. According to this new identity, because this paradigm will then create your reality. And when it comes to you quitting smoking after you've tried to quit in the past, the second tip I want to share with you is to learn from your past relapses. If you've experienced relapses before, analyze what led to them.

Because when you understand the triggers and the circumstances that Contributed to your previous setbacks, then you can empower yourself to develop effective strategies to then overcome similar challenges in the future. And specifically when it comes to my hypnosis clients, I can confidently say that the only reason why some of my hypnosis clients relapsed is because of peer pressure. I can't tell you any other reason.

What can I learn from my past relapse triggers to prevent future setbacks?

Certified Hypnotist & Cognitive Behavioral Coach 3:43
And even though it might might sound terribly sad that peer pressure can actually make you relapse, it can also be incredibly empowering for you because all you gotta do is to listen to my advice in this case and to say no to so called friends who want you to continue smoking. That's all you gotta do. It's really all you have to do once you went through that identity shift by simply doing That by staying away from people who do not have your best interest in mind. And please don't tell me that they're good friends. For me, somebody who wants to pressure me into continuing a habit that leads to lung cancer, that leads to stroke, that leads to heart attacks, that leads me directly into an early grave is not a friend.
