Chapter 4: What chaos did Carter Hart's situation create in the media?
that reported that Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak, and a 2029 second-round pick would be going to Pittsburgh for Tristan Jari and Samuel Poulin. And Pierre LeBron also reported that the Oilers made a trade with the Nashville Predators. They will get Spencer Stastny for a 2027 third-round pick. Frank Salivari thinks that Stastny is going to be the long-term replacement for Brett Kulak.
Now, Jari has played three years longer than Stuart Skinner. But Stuart Skinner has more playoff experience. A little bit. Can we say they're essentially the same goaltender in this situation? Is this an upgrade for Edmonton?
They sure think so, based off the price they paid to bring him over. Yeah. They are definitely, whatever their goaltending department, whoever makes their decisions over there, they clearly targeted Jari as somebody that they think can come in, play within their systems, and find some success. Whether that happens is TBD. What's going on in the shipping container? Right. Rose is panicking.
I'm sorry. I just found my mouse after like three months.
Hey! All right.

Chapter 5: What insights does Rose share about the Toronto Maple Leafs?
She found something. Yay! All right. Very good. Very good. All right.
Back to the show. I'm talking about goaltenders, and I see on your face that your attention is far from what I'm talking about.
I mean, your arms are flapping like, ah!
Ah!
And I can hear you on Ethan's mic. I tend to pay attention to what's going on.
I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't know.
That's my bad for having my mic open.
Yeah, yes. Why is your mic open? You know why? Because I'm getting ready to talk.

Chapter 6: What are the wins and fails of the week discussed?
Yeah, I'm getting ready to talk. Exactly.
I want to hear what Jorky has to say first, and then I'll give my thoughts.
David, as we were saying, you believe that this is a good deal for Edmonton, and he's a better goaltender than Stuart Skinner, who is now at Pittsburgh Penguins.
I mean, statistically, he's having a far better season than Stuart Skinner is having. I think, looking it up here, Tristan Jari, 9.8.
Still heroes, by the way. But as you were saying, David.
You keep setting me up to talk about goaltending, and then you keep cutting me off when I'm talking about goaltending.
Because you're a goaltender. You enjoy talking about goaltending. But as you were saying.
Saves above expected for Tristan Jari. 9.8 this season, which is in, I guess, the top half of starting goaltenders. It's not bad. It's certainly better than Stuart Skinner, who, if I keep scrolling down... Actually, Skinner's 6.9. A nice, decent goal. Very nice. Saved above expected. I'm going to have to see him in Edmondson's systems.

Chapter 7: What scenarios could improve the NHL according to Jordan McPherson?
I'm going to have to see how the Oilers play in front of him. This kind of move can be... Off the ice.
It's not a lateral move.
Well, it doesn't seem like that. We've got to see how the team responds. This is the kind of thing that can invigorate a locker room. So there's a lot of variables that I'm curious to see how they come into play. But God, they gave up a lot for this guy.
Yeah. If Edmonton was going to upgrade their goaltending situation, I figured they would have moved Skinner into the two spot and acquired somebody to be the one there. I don't think you're getting any better by acquiring Tristan Jari and continuing with a Jari-Pickard pairing. We forget how important backup goaltenders can be in the NHL so often.
And I just kind of think they just did the same exact thing. And there's a couple of tweets I want to I want to go to one in a second that we have in video. But there's a couple of tweets I want to read out that kind of describe how I'm feeling about the trade. Our buddy Pete Blackburn, from what Chaos said, I genuinely cannot believe we waited two years for the Oilers to make a goaltending move.
And this is what they came up with. It's that's how it feels like we expected the Oilers to kind of make a splash when it came to goaltending. And they went out and got Tristan Jari, whose career numbers are really solid.

Chapter 8: How did the Panthers perform in their recent games?
But you also have to have some context here about being behind a good Pittsburgh defense and then now moving to an Edmonton defense.
Roy, you have something. So backup goaltender now has been and still will be Calvin Pickard. Yeah. How do we feel about that?
Negative 1.5 goals saved above expected. Slightly better than Sergei Bobrovsky's negative two.
Yeah. It's been a rough year for, you know, as a Panther fan, we can't say much about bad goaltending right now. It hasn't been pretty for the Panthers. Defensively, they have some issues as well.
We should have given up Spencer Knight.
Well, I mean, Seth Jones got us a Stanley Cup, so it's hard to say that. But yes, the Panthers are lacking right now. We'll get to that later in the Panther Den, but another thing I wanted to read off here is Dom Leshizen from The Athletic, who has been on our show before. Trading a second-round pick, Brett Kulak and Stuart Skinner, for Stuart Skinner East is really funny. The
Oilers gave up a lot here. It's a second round pick in a few years. I think it's like a 2029 second round pick or something. So that's not that valuable. But giving up Skinner and riding with Pickard and Jari as the pairing and Brett Kulak, who has been a solid player for them, especially come playoff time. Feels like a hefty price to pay for basically a lateral move.
And we'll see what it looks like for Edmonton going forward.
We're also not talking about what this does on the other side of the trade. I'm just thinking about, OK, Edmonton. The Panthers are in a playoff battle right now. Pittsburgh is holding the second wildcard spot. They just basically traded their starting goaltender for Stuart Skinner.
