A little bit late because I get my whole self together in the morning and my team knows it. Thank goodness the camera's not on. they'd be like uh well first thing done you need to go to the gym that's what they would be saying um but i'm brushing my teeth i'm getting coffee i'm doing the whole nine and i'm getting ready so they know they already know what happened i'm like i took pictures this morning so my entire family's here I'm getting, I just got a note from Tim. He's like, hey, I just want you to know I'm driving to the store to get or taking Cairo and I don't know, and Trishard, those are my nephews, to get a basketball.
And yesterday they're like, we can't swim. The pool is too cold. I'm like, and it's 150 degrees outside. These kids today are so damn spoiled. Unbelievable. You know what? They don't even make their own food. which is shocking to me because at their age, I was cooking for myself. I was at home. I mean, as we started like, like at 10 years old, maybe or nine, I had older siblings. So, I mean, I was at home without my parents when I was younger, but I had older siblings that could take care of me. And then my grandmother was there as well, but these kids, and then I went down. Oh my gosh. So my two nephews, sorry to go on like this. You guys tell me about, if you know, my two nephews are here and they're down in the basement, which I told you guys, which is a finished basement.
but the washer and dryer down there and also the deep freezer. And so you are so right. Gen X was, we were bred differently. Gen X, we were different. We were built different. We were just, we were built differently. And we're not like these young kids. They can't even serve up their food. I'm like, all you do is take a big spoon of rice. You put it on the plate. You put some beans on top of it and you take another spoon of rice and you put some gravy and pork chops on. I mean, it is crazy. And then they're like, we can't swim. It's too cold. Can you warm up the pool? I'm like, I never do that. Do you know how expensive that is? That's like a week's utility bill for like, it's crazy. They can't even like just be when I was so happy.
When I was a kid, we begged, begged, begged, begged, begged my parents for a pool. They're like, you don't need that. It's expensive. Finally, they got it. We're so happy. There was no heater. we were lucky that we had a pool everyone in the neighborhood wanted to come and swim in the yard that oh my god my god the lemons the clerks they have a pool let's go everybody's at down at the house like we were lucky we thought we were rich because we had a pool now these kids are like you know the pool is just too cold i'm like what get your ass in that pool anyways so down in the basement That's where the deep freezer is and the washer and dryer. So I have to go and take all their wet towels down there. And so my two nephews are down there.
One of them is 17 or 18. And the other one is like 12, 10. Nightmare. Nightmare. The one was like, Uncle Don, can I build a fort? And I'm like, sure, you can build a fort. I didn't know that would mean taking all of the cushions off of the couch, every single pillow, every single blanket, anything that he could turn into a fort. And I go down there and it looks like a tornado hit the place. And they're both on different Nintendos or whatever it is, game stations, Game Boys or whatever they call them now, in different rooms, but the rooms are right next to each other in the basement, but they're both playing it.
