Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
The Hodaki Big Show with Toledos. All the good stuff, no nasties. Try it today.
Welcome. This is big. To the Hodaki Big Show. Really big. With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy.
Big Show.
Oh, g'day, you mad bastards.
Chapter 2: How does the team celebrate the start of May?
Great to have your company on this, I suppose it's an all right kind of day. It's Friday, 1st of May, 2026.
And as always, if you can be bothered, you're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Toledo's.
Out with the old brands, they've had their turn. Toledo's is here. Clean, mean, hydration.
Toledo! Oh, g'day, Moga, you stallion, how's life? You're going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you're 600b. Aren't we lucky to be alive, fellas? Totally, man. And that's no offence to dead people.
No.
I want to be quite clear about that. I was going to say, I'm glad you said that. Beautiful day today. Sunny bastard. Chilly bastard. Yes. My kind of day, man.
Crisp treat.
Crisp moge. Thank you. Thank you. I walked into work. It was so nice.
Yeah, it's lovely.

Chapter 3: What are the details about the Magic Round event?
Yeah, boy, he had a lovely lunch, Mogi.
Jase, I had the same lunch you did. Come on, man. Rooftop bar, Auckland here. Lovely to celebrate this Wild Foods Month thing. So we had this delicious meal, and it was really lovely. The sun was shining. There were free drinks.
Yeah.
And in the corner, Hoity J there in a backbone T-shirt in a hoover of a mood. Yeah. Class of Perch on the end of his nose, flipping through buzzies on Instagram. When you say that we had the same lunch, I would... disagree with that. We ate the same meal, but apart from that, our lunch was very different. I ate all of my meal? Yes. You ate one third of it.
Well, two-thirds of it, and I gave my other rib to Pugsan. I'm more talking about the busy side of things, where Keezy had about seven or eight. And I had a glass of water, Mogi. Oh, you're a backbone. Yeah, thank you, man.
Hey, now listen, really, really big day today. Huge day. Huge day.
We give away that trick to Magic Round at around five o'clock, so if you are in the draw... You're killing me. This is Mogi's job. This is my time to shine, man. What are you doing? I just want you to reiterate what I'm saying. What are you doing, man? Hey, Mogi, what's on the show? What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
Wow, as Jase has already mentioned, today we announce the winners for Magic Round. We're off to see the biggest game in Bucba League over the 15th to the 17th of May, I believe it is. Today we draw at 5 o'clock on the dot. You are going to have one more opportunity to get into the draw for this, so keep your ear tuned to the wireless for the cue to call and give us a ring on 0800 Hauraki.
Not only that, we've got Jack Lambert, the UK comedian, coming in for a bit of a yarn. We've got the throbber. And we've also got a bit of a chat about Hoiti J. It's the first day of the big bet. Jase, you've given up vaping. Yes. And we're going to have a bit of a chat about that, man. Just see how you're going, as we are every single day.

Chapter 4: How do the hosts engage with their audience during the show?
Cake there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 14 minutes past 4 o'clock. It's time for the Big Poll.
The Big Poll. The Big Poll.
And based off the back of our big bet we've got going on, the big poll is, can Jase give up vaping for the month of May? Get onto Instagram there, Hauraki Big Show, and have your vote, have your say. Jase, it's day one, mate. We've got a bet going on. Yes. You two are both betting me $100 each that you, Jase, can give up vaping and smoking cigarettes for the month of May. Yeah.
No supportive tobacco or nicotine products outside of the gum. Yes, or the patches. And I don't mind patches either for that matter. Well, they make me itch, Mogi, to be fair. So I probably won't do the patches. I get very scratchy with those. And so if you can't do it, we then have to give Mogi each $100. I thought you'd taken on my burden there, Keezy.
Come on, stop it. Okay, this is just a cut and dry bet. We either pay Mogi or he pays us and you'll feel healthier in the long run.
Yeah, sure. Day one, how are you feeling? Because you've been a whore of a man. I've been in a great mood. Look, a bit angsty, to be honest. A bit more angsty than I thought I'd feel. Yeah, right. It's just because, you know, I have a pattern to my day and the pattern's been disrupted somewhat. Yes. You know, when I go and have, oh, just take a moment and have a suck. Yeah. Yeah.
You know, just have a vigorous suck and everything will be all G. But you can still do that, just not with a vape. Yeah, true. Find other stuff to suck on. Chase, can you talk me through your habits, mate?
When you start the day, generally speaking, when you were at your old house, what you would do is, and you and I had our habits as well when we started on the show, but you'd get up in the morning, you'd have a cup of coffee, you'd go out into your sunroom or out onto your deck. Onto the deck there, maybe. And you would blast yourself a dart. That was the way you started a day.
Now, that is a hard habit to shake. Yeah. And I think back in the day and looking back on my journey through smoking, that was the hardest one to kick. It was the first one of the day with my coffee because that's so good.

Chapter 5: What are the hosts' thoughts on the latest food trends?
I mean, we're not recommending it. No, not at all. Not at all. But for me, for me, it was, and to be honest, every cigarette after that was downhill. But the trouble with it is you've had the first one, so then you're in the habit for the day, aren't you? So you're off to the races again. So then I'm assuming that you made it, it was the vaping instead replaced that.
But what have you been doing since you've been pig in the city? Because you're big city life now. Yes. And you can't vape inside the house, or at least that's what you tell us, the apartments. So what is your habit? What's your first one of the day? No, I can't vape in the house. My wife does not approve. Even when I scream out, it's vapour. It's not smoke. It's vapour.
It's because you look like a douche while you're doing it.
And also that's part of the requirements of the flat that we're renting. Yeah, sure. You can't do that. My habit is generally still to go for the coffee first thing in the morning, have a shower and go for a vigorous walk whereupon I suck upon my vape. Yeah. You can still go for the walk. Yeah, well, we do.
My wife and I had our coffee, had our showers, went out for a walk, and I was a bit fidgety. Yeah. You know, and I was a bit sort of... The trouble is, Keezy, that the walk itself is triggering. Right. So if you go on the walk, you start thinking about the vaping. Normally I'd be vaping now. You go for the walk. Well, that makes me think about the vaping. Now I'm thinking about it.
So if I don't go for the walk, am I going to think about the vape?
Probably. Question. Like if you're weaning yourself off of caffeine, you can have decaf stuff.
Is there that equivalent for vaping or smoking? Not for Jase. He only gets the gum. Yeah. No, no, but like, is that a thing? You know what I mean?
I don't even know.

Chapter 6: What challenges does Jase face in giving up vaping?
Right, but they're not real nicotine.
Disgusting.
Can I smoke those?
Is that legit? No, sir.
No, you can't smoke any. I mean, it's not nicotine or anything, is it? No.
You can't smoke anything. You still have your meth, though, but other than that, nothing.
Yeah, well, but yeah, no, as I say, I think I'm a bit more angsty than I thought I was going to be, but other than that, fine. I'll tell you what's good for angst. A ciggy? Shit, yeah. Mogi, stop it. It is the big poll. Have your say. Go to the Haraki Big Show's Instagram story. Vote there.
Can he do it? We'll report on the results later on.
Is it a binding referendum?

Chapter 7: How does the guest comedian approach performing in New Zealand?
It just keeps on coming. Which is great. It's good stuff. Hey, let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Sean, you mad bastard. How's life?
G'day, fellas. How are you? Here he is.
Yeah, good, thanks, mate. You're stoked it's Friday, Sean.
Looking forward to it. It's been a long week.
I hear you, mate. What do you do for a crust, by the way?
I run a logistics company.
Backbone. Good stuff. And who would you bring with you, Sean? It would be a toss-up between the wife and the brother. It happens a lot, doesn't it? The wife and the brother, the wife and the mate.
It's a tough one, Sean. It's a tough one.
It's a big decision because you've got the person that you feel obligated to take and then there's the person that you want to take.

Chapter 8: What is the significance of the Big Poll results?
Harry, they call him.
I could take the missus, but, you know.
What's her name again?
Her name's Lisa. Oh, shit.
Oh, bloody hell.
Oh, God. Is there anyone else?
I mean, where do you go between Harry and Lisa? Lisa, fellas. I mean. Well, look, we'll leave that up to Liam. But, Liam, you're in the draw, mate. Awesome. Good on you, mate. Awesome. Thanks for insulting everyone I know. G'day, Blair, you mad bastard. How's life? Blair?
How you going?
Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Sal, what are your plans for the weekend, Blair?
