What is the hidden role of low cortisol in chronic fatigue and brain fog?

Dave Asprey 0:00
Why is cortisol good for you? Everyone who's sick has a low cortisol awakening response. Everyone thinks cortisol is a doomsday horrible thing. So, I figured this out, but low cortisol is more dangerous than high cortisol. And having low cortisol in the morning is horrible. Do you have it low in the morning and high at night? Wrong. It's got to be the other way. Turns out, genetically, my body doesn't make enough cortisol. The lesson here is that cortisol is... You're listening to The Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey. You're listening to this because you care about how you age, how strong you are, and your muscle mass matters more than you might think. But work, kids, life, just a full schedule makes it really tough to get to the gym. And AMP fixes that. It's a smart home gym that replaces piles of funky equipment with one sleek device. And it's so modern, so minimal, so sleek, and so easy to use that it won't turn into a clothes hanger.

Amp makes working out at home way easier. You just turn the dial, pick a workout, and you start going. No friction. And the app walks you through each movement step by step so you don't have to think about it. Amp's like having a personal trainer right beside you telling you what to do and making it easy. You can choose workouts from five minutes to an hour across strength training, HIIT, Pilates, yoga, mobility, and more than 500 different movements. And the reason I like it is that there's intelligence behind it. AMP uses AI to guide your workout and adjust the resistance during each set so every rep challenges your body at the right level. You've never seen an at-home gym like this. It literally takes up no space on your wall. And it feels like something you'd see in Architectural Digest magazine. So you get everything you need, none of the clutter, and it fits into even the busiest days. So if you're ready to make fitness fit into your life, go to amp.ai and check it out.

How many nights have you stared at the ceiling, counting the hours until morning? Maybe you tried a sleep supplement, but it knocked you out and left you groggy, like you traded one problem for another. Poor sleep doesn't just make you tired. It kills your performance, slows your brain down, and speeds up aging. Kill Switch from Switch Supplements solves that problem. It works with your biology instead of against it. It contains five gut-friendly, extensively researched ingredients like GABA, magnesium glycinate, and tart cherry extract to help you fall asleep naturally, stay asleep, and wake up clear. And it's in the form of a delicious, sugar-free, no BS hot cocoa drink. Sleep tracking data proves how well it works. People consistently hit 90 plus sleep scores and more than double their REM sleep in only three days with Killswitch.

Dr. Jessica Petras 3:02
Absolutely. You know, I was in a very, I would say, litigious state of California. And the medical board there is not easy on doctors. I believe it's actually created to get doctors in trouble and regulate doctors more so than anything else. I heard that there's a group of physicians actually coming after the California Medical Board for RICO, which is these basically anti-mob, anti-mafia statues. Do you think that they might be acting like the mob? Yeah, I donated to that crew. Actually, I know them very well, many of them, and I respect them. And I think they're the pioneers who really got, man, did they get canceled? Oh, yeah. So, yeah, I think it's great what they're doing. I think there are mob tactics within the medical boards. There is an agenda that's greater than the medical boards, in my opinion. I was firsthand experience. I saw it.
Dave Asprey 3:54
Which pharmaceutical company most owns the California Medical Board? That's a good question. You know, I don't know that stat right offhand, but if I had to guess, I would say Pfizer is a pretty good guess. It seems logical given the behavior there. But if you work for the California Medical Board or for Pfizer, there is karma, I just want to say. Given the stuff that you guys pulled on Jessica and just on the world, you're going to have to change at least like the name of your company or something.
