Welcome in. It is Jaguars postgame brought to you by GEHA, Government Employees Health Association, benefits for federal employees and retirees. Final score, Jaguars 41, Titans 7. Jaguars finished with a 13-4 record, and they are the 2025 AFC South champions, fifth division title in franchise history. Jags finish on an eight-game win streak. At the end of the regular season, tied for the second longest win streak in franchise history in a single season. J.P. Shadrick, Mike Dempsey, we'll have Fred Taylor coming up. Plenty of reaction. We'll hear from head coach Liam Cohen. Bucky Brooks is near the Jaguars locker room. Probably get some players in as well as they hand out hats and t-shirts. Division title for a team that...
With coaching change again, wasn't expected to really be in this position, but here they are finding their stride at the right time. Yeah, it's crazy to think back what the beginning of the offseason was like, when it looked like Trent Baalke was going to stick around and Liam Cohen was pulling his name out of consideration, become the next head coach of the Jaguars, and everything changed. And, you know, Tony Buscelli exerted a little influence with Shad Khan. Shad Khan saw... I believe the error of his ways and moved on. And then we were able to get Liam Cohen, James Gladstone, and a brand new start and a brand new outlook on this season and this franchise, JP. And to have it pay off in the first year to go and add as many wins as they did from 4-13 to 13-4 is absolutely stunning what they were able to accomplish this year.
And unlike that winning streak in 99, this one can continue now. I mean, they had a long winning streak, and the Jags still have a chance to win four more this year. And I'll count every last one of them. Absolutely. And, of course, now the Jaguars will be scoreboard watching to see if Denver or New England falter at the 425 window. We'll keep you posted on those games. If one of those teams loses today, then the Jaguars would be the number two seed. If both of those teams lose, the Jaguars would be the number one seed and have next week off. and be automatically into the divisional round with home field throughout the AFC playoffs. A lot to aspire to. We'll see. We'll keep you posted on those games, of course.
What was the final score of the Jaguars vs. Titans game?
No worse than the number three seed. And if that's the case, the Jaguars would host a playoff game next week against a team to be determined. And most likely in this scenario, if Houston loses this game against Indy right now, they're trailing at 30-29. Two-minute warning.
How did the Jaguars secure the AFC South championship?
Two-minute warning now. And if they lose and then one of those teams will owe them the bills or the The Chargers jumped them, one of those two. It would be the Jaguars and the Texans next week. We'll keep you posted on all those games, too, because the Chargers and the Bills also play at 425 today. But the Jaguars played at 1 o'clock today, and they got the job done, 41-7. Trevor Lawrence, another fantastic performance today, 22-30, 255 through the year, surpassing 4,000 for the season, three passing touchdowns. Against a secondary that's depleted. But he took advantage of it. They did their job today. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Really. Other than the opening drive. And once Cam Ward went out of the game, all the competitiveness from Tennessee was gone.
Now, I still think Jacksonville would have won the football game. But... It might have made things a little bit more interesting for a longer stretch, and it was interesting to see how Liam Cohen handled it with Trevor Lawrence today. He wasn't getting beat up out there by any stretch, and maybe he would have pulled him if the protection wasn't good, but he did have that milestone in mind, wanted him to get to 4,000 yards because he clearly knew where he was as soon as he completed the pass that gave him that.
