President Trump first meeting with the newly freed hostages and families before delivering remarks to the Israeli Congress. Then Mr. Trump departing for Egypt, where he is co-chairing the Gaza Peace Summit along with the president of Egypt. Leaders from around the world joining in the summit aimed at bolstering peace and stability in the Middle East.
It is unclear if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend. Hamas leadership has said it will not join. Once all of the hostages are released, Israel is expected to begin releasing nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Over the weekend, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Abraham Accords architect and President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who mediated the deal on behalf of the United States, speaking to thousands of Israelis gathered on Saturday in Tel Aviv. Witkoff appearing visibly emotional, hearing the crowd chant, Thank you, Trump. That same crowd later booing at mention of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Here, Witkoff and Kushner.
