Chapter 1: What happened to Savannah Guthrie's mother?
Good morning, girlies, it's the toast. It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your host. It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast. They sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday. I hope everybody's having a day that is both parjalicious and definition.
And speaking of parjaliciousness and definition, I am honored, humbled to introduce today's guest, Jacqueline Follet. Hello, Jacqueline. Welcome to the show. Hey, turdy Lou, happy to be here. Okay, cable knit. Okay, stripes. Oh, I'm so glad you brought up my shirt. And I didn't bring up your shirt just to talk about my shirt. Don't you feel like everybody's talking about my shirt today?
We're definitely all noticing that you're wearing a new shirt. What seems to be a new shirt, I'm not going to presume. Now, I'm sorry to the cardboard cadets, this is not... from Nordstrom Rack, but my cardboard cadets will be pleased to know this shirt is also under $50. I went to Mango. Mango's so like having a moment.
Chapter 2: Why is Kelly Clarkson ending her talk show?
At the mall, I went to Mango, and I just like tried on a couple of things. Now, I wanna shout out Mango for having reasonably priced clothing that is not ugly. I think that's important. But I do wanna just sort of like,
tell mango like strong small medium large like that's crazy that's crazy small medium large you know like what about other sizes outside of that so yeah the shirt's a little tight but like i just needed shirts and so i went to mango if it's sometimes when you go too big you get that bulk here yeah that's what i'm dealing with like i want bigger sizes but i i don't want extra bulk here there's nothing better than a big shirt do you know what i mean a shirt yes but that if it were too big would not be good i think it looks nice on you
Thank you. So I do feel like everyone's kind of talking about my new shirt. Well, we're excited that you have a new shirt and that you're feeling Koji self. Yeah. And I went to the mall and it's just malls are amazing.
Chapter 3: What sparked the backlash against Jason Bateman and Charli XCX?
They are. Oh, my goodness. It's really sad what's happened to them. So you like they're a thing of the past, right? Like they're sort of phasing out. Yeah. Especially traditional malls.
Chapter 4: What exciting news do Eddie Murphy's son and Martin Lawrence's daughter have?
Now, like your mall has to be like a ratata, like a theme park.
Yeah.
Yeah. Like the American Dream Mall. Like it has a water slide and Legoland and it's also a mall. And even American Dream, I think, suffers. American Dream is in financial ruin. I think they suffer in silence. I think they put on a strong face. I feel like it's quite loud. I feel like we're always hearing about how the New Jersey, whatever it's called, American Dream Mall, is in financial despair.
The people who built it are living in poverty. There's always stories about that mall.
Chapter 5: How did Whitney Leavitt perform in her Broadway debut?
I feel like they put on a brave face. They're always sending out emails about what SpongeBob is doing. Mr. Beast recorded a huge video there. They act like nothing's wrong, but I think they're suffering. Yeah.
Chapter 6: What advice was given in the Dear Toasters segment?
I mean, I, for one, I'm glad I didn't like ever get into the mall business, but as a mall patron, I went to the mall like over the weekend and I just had such an amazing time. And Ben was sort of striking out like every store we went to, he just didn't want it that badly. You know, like I was, sometimes you have to go to the mall like with a mission and I went to the mall with a mission.
I'm like, I'm not trying things on. Like if it looks like it fits, it will fit. I went to Mango. I went to Aloe. Like, I went to a couple of stores just to get, like, toast clothing. And I crushed it. Like, every store. I got close to Tommy Bahama. Okay? I was crushing it.
Chapter 7: How do you approach dating a dentist?
And Ben was just like, they, like, don't know my size. I was like, I feel like you don't want it bad enough. Like, he was being such, like, a sourpuss.
He didn't want it.
He had mall brands. My sweater today. Aerie. Okay. I walked into. I feel like people would be shocked that. I walked into an Aerie. Aerie. And? I think it was gifted, like, a year ago. And I wore it, like, all last winter. You know what they call that sweater?
cable knit well technically yes but you know what other people call it the rory gilmore sweater oh cute um and then i forgot that i had it but it's been so chilly down here that um i'm excited to be wearing it today it's a great sweater it's you look beautiful thank you as do you dazzling you know what i did last night i did something crazy crack crazier death crazier i took a bath
My God, that is really crazy of you because I also took a bath, but that's sort of like a nightly occurrence.
I haven't taken a bath.
You guys, Jackie has this amazing bath.

Chapter 8: What is the significance of Ozempic in relationships?
It's in the corner. It's by a window. There's art over it. It has multiple faucets. She never uses it. I've probably used your bath just as many times as you have. Probably. I haven't taken a bath certainly in over a year because I didn't take one while I was pregnant. And I didn't take one since I've given birth because I only went to my six week, 10 week appointment last week.
But my body is just like hurting, like aching. Every time for a bath.
body aches but i don't have the rest of a sickness i feel like i'm fighting something off but it's it's taking a toll on my joints so you had to take it to the bath so i was like oh my god i need a soak so i took a bath did you wet your hair no no no no wetting your washing your hair is for the shower that's an olympic sport washing your hair in the tub especially i take a really hot bath so when i get up you get like dizzy when you get out of the bath i need to then lay down
quite literally a victorian woman you are not built for this time yeah so where's jackie she couldn't make it to dinner she had taken a warm bath my bath was too hot like that's literally like what happens in those shows like the empress yes she gets like woozy or like you know when like a woman's like outside they're like are you okay yeah that's you but i enjoyed my bath my yearly bath that's i'll see you again next year bath i can't even picture you in the bath
And it's like, what do you really do? And every time I'm in the bath, I need one of those pillows that I get Instagram ads for. Yeah. That like prop up my back because what I'm going to lay with my neck on the ledge like I'm washing my hair at the salon.
So when you do take a bath and you commit to not wetting your hair, it's definitely less relaxing because just being able to lean back and get your hair wet is very relaxing. I got one actually Taylor Strecker got me one of those pillows for my birthday because she had one in her house and I was like, wait, that's amazing. She got me one.
I have to tell you, and shout out to Taylor, it was an amazing gift for like two months. It became such a chore. First of all, it became smelly. And once it became smelly, I got rid of it. But like you really, in order to properly take care of it, like need to take it out of the bath every time you use it and air dry it. And I was like.
But when it was in the bath, did it do what you needed it to do? No, because the pillow itself like does get a little wet. So if you really lean back on it fully, like your hair gets wet. Oh, but take that out. Like, was it cozy? Yes. So maybe I should get one for my yearly bath. It has a year to dry. Yeah, but you're going to put it outside. And it's this big, heavy, soaking wet thing. Oh.
Yeah, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Sorry, Taylor Strecker. And I know it's expensive, too. Well, it's the thought that counts. A very good gift. Yeah. And she spoke to the Streckers this morning. How are they doing? How's baby Strecker? They're doing amazing. They're loving every minute. Taylor Strecker keeps calling herself dad, which is cracking me up.
