Because I went to the favelas in Brazil on more than one occasion to interview gang members to figure out what was going on.
I was not the first from Vice, certainly was not the last. And others did certainly more dangerous reporting than I. I was on the ground at these riots and I came back a year or two later. Ultimately, I went down there like three times Candace Owens is attacking Nick Shirley, trying to discredit his current work, exposing fraud schemes largely from Democrats by bringing up a year old video from him where he went to these favelas and interviewed gang members. But Nick Shirley has really captured the moment. And he is I think he was at the State of the Union. I'm not sure if he was there. But he is being heralded as this new and upcoming young journalist.
