And ultimately in that process, there was, I was just able to connect to the deep, deep, deep well of love that I had for her, like on the other side of the, of the grief.
And for me, why I think people struggle with grief, they're not actually struggling with the grief.
They're struggling with their fear and resistance to feeling the grief.
And when it actually lands and hits you, it's like, oh,
It feels, it's just like intense love.
It's like heartbreakingly intense love.
And when I realized that, I think it just completely changed how I view all emotions.
And I do believe that there's no such thing as a negative emotion.
It's only our fear and resistance to feeling it that is shitty and that causes the reactivity.
So that's how I came into this nervous system stuff.
There's no one size fits all answer.
Everyone's different.
I would say if there are recurring mental loops about a situation, that's a good signal that it's pointing to something that hasn't been felt.
And you don't have to start with the big loss or the big whatever the thing is.
You can start small with everyday heartbreaks or disappointment or things that don't go your way.
um you can kind of titrate your way to some of the bigger situations um generally having someone who cares about you it might be a friend might be a therapist might be someone that can kind of be with you through that also goes a long way the kind of the i think of co-regulation is basically
you're like loaning nervous system safety which allows you to um it gives your nervous system greater permission to feel the stuff that otherwise would be really scary to do in the same ways as you don't just decide to sleep you don't just like lie down and like and and do sleeping but you do create the conditions for sleep to arise so you have a dark room
You kind of wind down, you maybe do some stretching, etc.
And then sleep just happens.
It's the same with feeling.
