Alex Hormozy on the Modern Wisdom podcast last month or the month before. I don't really know what day of the week or what month it is right now, but
I don't know about you guys, but when I heard that I was like, Holy shit, that is good. Say
it again.
I'm sorry that accomplishing your dreams wasn't fast, easy, and risk free.
Ooh,
that one hurts.
What do you think of?
It makes me actually think of another quote or something that I think it was Gary Vanerchuk that said it. that was some version of basically the faster you want something, the more vulnerable you are to to trying to cheat and take shortcuts. There's just inherent risk in business. There's time that nobody I think that's always the biggest factor is we don't wanna put in the time that it really takes to grow something, whatever big is, right? It just takes so much more time than any of us really want to To acknowledge.
What do you think right now in your life, like something that's like you feel's good? Like do you have a story on like you going through like a three or four year journey where like that was true?
Where like
something a goal you had that you've actually accomplished where you could talk In the past, like hey this
For sh I mean, I just I it makes me think of my real estate business, first of all. Like first and foremost, it makes me think of growing the real estate team. when Fred and I decided purposefully that we were going to grow it both in the size of people but also sell as many homes as we could in a year, we started saying like, wow, this takes longer and costs more money than we ever thought it would. And getting through some of the major milestones, I remember thinking of like, What would it be like to get to two hundred sales in a year? What would it like to get to three hundred? What would it be like to get to five hundred? And and we clipped all of those and None of it came without risk. None of it came as fast as we wanted it to.
And none of it was easy.
Was it what you wanted?
No.
Like do you think like now looking back, are you glad you did it or
I'm so glad I did it. Yeah. I did truly want it then. But I think what I realized over the years and like now I'm in the process of something else. Like we you and I are all three of us, like we've talked a lot about recruiting. And for sure that's something I'm I'm working on. And I feel like it's I'm in that slow part again. But It was what I wanted at the time. And then there became a time where I realized like it's no longer what I really want. Like I don't want to sell the mo I don't want the trophy for selling the most houses. I want a different business. I wanted it I want a different life. And so that that changed, but I think I changed.
Was the route of like when you had the team selling five hundred homes a year and now having three thousand plus agents, I believe, right? Or how no, almost how many agents do you have right now in EXP organization?
Twenty seven thirty two. Okay.
So do you think when you had the team selling five hundred and now twenty seven hundred agents in your EXP organization, do you feel like the route of trying to do both those was the same? Like was what you were trying to get to the same answer and just now a different version to get there?
That's a good question. Possibly. Yeah. Dang, dude, that's a really good question.
Well I just look at it like it's just I find that Like I've went through that as well in real estate. I'm like, I just look at it as And I'm good at the real estate space, in my opinion.
