Why are the Oilers focusing on skill work and practice drills today?
The oil is in the middle of what amounts to a five-day break. A lot of uh skill work and practice today. Uh didn't see Derek Ryan nor Casperi Kapan out there, so Edmonton really only had nine healthy forwards. Someone's gonna have to get recalled uh from Bakersfield before Edmonton goes for the first time ever into Salt Lake, Utah. to play the Utah hockey club. Uh that'll take place Friday. It's a three game road trip uh coming up. Um The Oiders will play Utah, Colorado, who got pounded last night, eat to two by Tampa Bay, and then the Vegas school tonight. Brendan Escott is with us. Brendan, we had uh photo day for S uh Scotiabank last night at Rogers Place. I gotta tell ya, the Oiders have incredible fans.
They people were so nice, so kind, so giving. Uh you know, we're you know, there's massive lineups to see Connor McDavid and Leon Dreis still get your picture taken, but people were uh talkative and they were in good spirits and uh it just uh it was a real positive energy type of night. Uh certainly for Cam and myself, I'm sure uh Jack Michaels and Gene Principe uh felt the same way. That's the nature of this market. You know what? People love hockey but they're decent people to be around and uh It gets reinforced in a night like that. I know you've experienced a little bit of that over the last few years being down at the arena as well.
Yeah, tough to disagree on any front there. I mean, uh they they love their hockey, they love their personalities that come around the game as well, uh such as yourself and Jack and Gene and Tony and Paige and I know that those uh those lineups there as well. So I'm glad glad that there was a positive interaction. Yeah, it was
it was cool. I mean we're in a bit of a quiet spot right now. We are gonna have some tra by the way, David Jirichek has not been traded yet. Frank Sarvalli uh was on yesterday for Horse Race in Alberta. Now, I said we're gonna have fun.
