No, no, no, no, it's all good. Okay, how's that one working out right now? That sounds pretty good.
Alrighty, well, as we are in the NHL playoffs, what is your take so far on how these games have been working out?
all three stairs are up top or down pretty enough i don't know how you look at it i think they're all going to be over soon but the plow hockey's been outstanding it's terrific for sure now have you caught much of of any of edmonton versus anaheim i've watched both games i went to uh For sure.
Now with the way that this series has worked out, this is a question I've actually really wanted to ask you because you come from a different era. But in the Oilers and Ducks series, we haven't seen a whole lot of physicality quite yet in that one.
And I just want to ask you if it's the way the teams are or if it's something that kind of gets created as the series goes on and these two teams breed a bit of a hatred for each other.

Chapter 2: What insights does Brian Burke share about the NHL playoffs?
I think that's a great series so far. Two top teams, two hostile teams, two all-coach teams. All-coach teams a lot.
For sure. Now, I want to ask you about the Philadelphia Flyers. I know it's a little bit random, but with the way that that series has played out, I mean, it came as a shock to me, and I feel like it came as a shock to a lot of different people. Did you see the way that that came out?
No. I thought Philly's been a really good team for the last 25, 30 games. I'm not surprised they played well. I didn't think Philly would play like they have. Philly's all played them badly in my view. I think they're going to end it off quickly in game four.
Yeah, for sure. And I mean, the addition of that new young forward, Porter Martone, I mean, he came in the final nine games of the season, put up 10 points. And I mean, he's just been consistent the whole way through. How does a young player go from, you know, playing at a lower level to being flung into the NHL and then even further into the NHL playoffs and succeed like that?
That's amazing. It's really a confidence that's good. He's playing Maiden Jr. and then playing NCAA Southeast Development. And they play him like he's been in the league for five years. He really is.
for sure uh one last one here for you berkey just uh what are the two big adjustments or not the two big adjustments but what adjustments do you see that either the anaheim ducks or the edmonton oilers need to make on each side all right well thanks a lot berkey thanks for your time
All good.

Chapter 3: How does Brian Burke assess the Oilers vs. Ducks series so far?
What's this experience been like for you so far?
Yeah, it's been unreal. I guess the fans have been pretty cool to go out there and kind of listen to them and just kind of be around the environment. You hear it all the time when I was at home, not on the team, but now being on the team and being in the locker room, it definitely helps us go out there and want to play for them.
I mean, you grew up watching it. I mean, I don't know who you were. Were you a fan of the Oilers as a kid growing up? I mean, because the Oilers have had sort of a different evolutionary track here over the last several years. Obviously, they've been a lot better team the last four or five years. And at that point, you're your own player playing for another organization.
But did you have a pretty good idea of what you're getting yourself into as a player when the order straightened for you?
Yeah, I think, you know, we were fans. I mean, we were fans in the dark times. We kind of stopped going to games and they started winning. So maybe we were the problem. But no, it's been unreal. It's been surreal. Kind of, you know, getting to kind of talk to Matt last year about how it was being a hometown guy. and kind of come back now and living it.
It's definitely a crazy moment, but you just got to go for the ride.
Does it help when the general manager that drafted you trades you? Because clearly he believes in you.
Yeah, that definitely brings a sense of comfortability. I mean, also getting traded to... Your hometown, you get familiar with the area, so that's nice not coming to a new place and just getting a whole bunch of things thrown at you. You get a little bit of support, so it's nice coming to this area.
How specified has the direction of the coaches been in terms of you doing your job and knowing your role?

Chapter 4: What factors contribute to Connor McDavid's performance in the playoffs?
And, you know, they're showing it. Like, they're getting in there and pushing the Oilers around a little bit. So the Oilers, they need to stand up and...
take care of that right yeah 100 and i mean we've seen the physicality from a few guys on the edmonton oilers squad but it hasn't exactly been the the prime time fight that maybe a lot of people were expecting come come playoff time but uh yeah edmonton oilers simply need to find a way to get a win tonight it would do a lot for the team's momentum to go into the opposition's building and find themselves into a win there is one game going on in the league right now that is
actively being played the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning tied at one after one period that is courtesy of Braden Point for the Tampa Bay Lightning and on the other side of things Alex Texier scoring for the Montreal Canadiens this guy was on waivers earlier in the year ladies and gentlemen do not forget about that he has been a huge addition to their squad and and it's worked out well for him that series if I'm betting on any of them I think that series is going seven

This day in Oilers history is brought to you by New West Travel, your local travel experts. On this day in 1983, the Oilers opened up the conference finals with an 8-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Yari Curry scored two shorthanded goals in the game while Wayne Gretzky tied an NHL record with three assists in one period. Also scored the game-winning goal in that one.
Yeah, I heard he's a pretty good hockey player.
