Thank you for joining us here on Oilers Now. An opportunity for you, running Team Canada over at the World Hockey Championship. And based upon the personnel, you've got a pretty good team going over, don't you?

Yeah, we're excited about it, Bob. You know, you're a little bit, you know, a lot at the mercy of... The NHL playoffs, obviously, for this tournament and who's in and who's out and who continues on. And then obviously the willingness or the want of the player to participate. And going in, it was a unique year having been an Olympic year. And not only those players that participated in the Olympics, but those that didn't. and participated in a compressed, condensed schedule. As you know, the games came fast and furious this year, so we were a little unsure of what the reception was going to be like, but I commend the players. Every time Canada calls, guys respond and answer that call. So we're excited about the group that we've got here,

We've got it coming over. We've got probably maybe another spot or two that we may add to, but excited about the group that's here and looking forward to getting this thing going.

I have great expectations of Team Canada in every tournament, Brad. I still think we probably produce 40% to 50% of the players in the National Hockey League, and in terms of the high-end talent, I don't think Canada is, you know, I know the Americans had a real good run, 2016 draft as an example, but I think Canada still produces unbelievable players. But one thing that, you know, there are different things in different years, and I'm just looking at what you got up front, and we'll get to the two others in defense in a second, but, I mean, you've got some special guys there. Like, when you're rolling out, you know, Macklin Celebrini, and the experience of guys like O'Reilly and Tavares, Mark Shifley, and then emerging players like Holloway and Thomas.

Yeah, you bang on. We think there's a lot of skill, a lot of firepower, and real strength down the middle. When you look at the centers... with Macklin, um, Shifley, um, Thomas O'Reilly, Tavares, you know, it goes on and on. And, and, you know, so, so as in a lot of Canadian events, um, You know, you bring a lot of centers and you can move them out to the wing. The other thing, you know, what I like about this group thus far is just there's a good blend of experienced guys and then some real top-end young players you talked about. You know, he's just emerging now as one of the faces of Canadian hockey. He'll wear the captain's suit for us, Dylan Holloway.
