How far is Sangudo from the beach, from Lake Wabamon? I don't think I've ever told this story on the air. I'd say it's like a half hour, Bob. It's about a half hour? Yeah, I'd say about a half hour. Sangudo's about a half hour from Lake Wabamon? I'd say about that.
Chapter 2: What insights do listeners provide about the Oilers' performance?
HMCS Nonsuch, that was the name of our naval unit. And no, this is not naval gazing, okay? Circa 1983, Student Youth Employment Program. And so there were two different crews, and we competed against each other, and then we rotated when we stayed out at the barracks out at Lake Wabamon. It was co-ed. We were like, you know, some of us, I was like, well, we were the youngest ones there.
Myself, a guy named Brandon, Lindsay and Andrew. The three of us were the only 17 year olds. Everybody else was already in university. So we had a lot of fun that summer. And Did I see any stripper grams? Technically, no.
But let's just say there was some stupid shenanigans that went on over the course of, like, stuff that, you know, would be low-grade sort of, not even a B movie, like a C movie stuff that we had. Because it was, anyways, it was, I know that you had to be able to go out in the middle of the lake and then swim. And, I mean, I was a lot lighter.
Then now I'd have no problem because I'd just be able to float forever, right? So, anyhow. And that was the year. Actually, can you cue up sailing by Christopher Cross for me as I continue down this path? Do you have any idea what I'm talking about at all? It was not smooth sailing last night for the Edmonton Hunters, by the way, just to set the record straight. But they did get the victory.
They came back. And no, they didn't come sail away with me with sticks, though they used their sticks to ultimately win the game. How about the play that Drysaddle made at the blue line? Basically beat three guys, then got the puck back behind the net, cycled it around, and then a great pass from Podkolzin in front to Kapanen. But since you asked, no, I've not seen any strippers in Sangudo.

Who was the guy that he crushed? I think he ended up with the Islanders for a while later on in his career. But earlier, this guy had just been recalled from the minors. Chapter 4: What memories does Bob share about his past experiences?
People can jump aboard Texas on the Ashley Fine Forest text line. You know what? Anyways, to answer your question, no, I've not seen any strippers from Sangudo. Well, Dave got worked over in later years by Bob Probert because Probert was an absolute machine when he came in. Dave Semenko, early 1980s, didn't lose very often, but... My main man, Mitch, out of Westlock, saying, Bob, you're talking toughest guys ever. What about Dave Brown?
Well, except probably dropped him one time. So, but Dave Brown was as tough as there was. There's no question. T-Hups has pulled Earl Campbell. Chapter 5: What were the highlights of the Oilers vs. Ducks game?
This just got passed along to me courtesy of Cactus Jack. The reason why Christopher Cross wore the Earl Campbell jersey was he was great friends with Gordon Red Batty, who at the time was the Houston Oilers equipment manager. Red Batty came from the Montreal Alouettes. He's the guy that put the staples in the Alouettes cleats in the 1977 Grey Cup. He then went to work for the Houston Oilers.
But many of you who have been to Green Bay Driving around right now in Edmonton because there's a lot of Eskimo and football fans from back in the day that went to go see the Green Bay Packers. Red Batty worked for the Green Bay Packers for like 20 to 25 years. I'm pretty sure Red Batty's son is an equipment guy currently working in the American Hockey League. or in an AHL market as we speak.
And he hooked up Christopher Cross with the Earl Campbell jersey. Those Houston Letters jerseys of the, like when Warren, they had style of jerseys. They're like the Quebec Nordiques jerseys. So was it Carla Bonoff?
