Right, Brian, another win for Manchester United. Again, they had to come from behind against Crystal Palace, but they got the job done up to third place and maybe not the worst way to win a game where they have to show a bit of adversity.
Well, they had a handy in the second half, Phil, with the red card against Lacroix. It gave them a position where they had a penalty kick and the opposition are down to 10 men. So I felt that would be the key to them winning the game. And they took that opportunity, scored a goal, got a very good second goal with Sisko. I didn't think they were very impressive overall.
Far too many misplaced passes in the first half. No great rhythm to the game, including Bruno Fernandes. Didn't have a great first half. The second half, he dominated the play and was excellent. But overall, not a very convincing performance. But they got the job done. Got two more points on a great run. Another home victory. Another day unbeaten since Stephen's day in the league.
and gets them up to third place.
Is it a case that Palace are a tough nut to crack? There has been a few issues with Palace in the last few weeks, the Glasner stuff, the comments, the fans, his future and all that. But they certainly have looked a lot more together in the last few games and they started really well. They can be quite a hard team to break down when they sit back in that shape.
Well, they've been a very impressive team for the last couple of seasons on the glass. They didn't start well last year, didn't win the game of the first day.

Chapter 3: What were the key moments in the Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace match?
and were under a bit of pressure down near the bottom of the table. Once they got going, they played very well, finished, I think, 12th last year, won the FA Cup, beat Fulham, Villa, and then Manchester City in the final. Then won the Charity Shield, or whatever it's called nowadays, as well. So it was a great season, probably the best season they've ever had.
This season has been a bit more mixed. The first part were quite good. I've drifted away. a lot of, I think, when nine games were able to win until they won two games recently, or three, got three to win the... Conference League, had to play the play-off round, which they wouldn't have wanted to or expected to, but they're still going on that.
So their experienced team played the system well, missing Mateta up front, signed Sarne Larsson, thinking he was probably going to be transferred into the other problem at the medical. They have a way of playing that they're comfortable with. They use possession well.
Chapter 4: How did the red card impact the game's dynamics?
I thought they played reasonably well today. They scored a goal, got a goal, good goal, a corner kick.
were reasonably comfortable in the first half but the red card just totally dominated the trend of the second game but you can see they still have something very much about them on 35 points they're in a comfortable mid-table position and they'll pick up more points before the end of the season Just on United obviously the one change
Cesco had scored against Everton off the bench last Monday. That was all the talk in the build-up. Will he get a start? He got a start. Very limited in the first half of what he was given. There was a ball into the box where he got his head to it, but it was a comfortable save. But then the winning goal, it's a beautiful ball in from Fernandes.
Just the size of Cesco, that's the kind of ball that he's going to thrive on over the next few years.
Yeah, I'm going to thrive on them more if they're coming from the end line across the box that he can attack the ball. There wasn't too much of that stuff today. There was a lot of balls from a similar area where Bruno Fernandes played the one in for him to score. There was something Dallow in the first half, but they hadn't got the accuracy.
of Bruno Fernandes' ball which was a magnificent cross pass to him but he still had a bit of work to do get away from his man get the header on goal so that's encouraging for Manchester United I think a lot of it a lot of the good news story for Manchester United has been about the form of Mbumo and Cunha in recent weeks with Cesco joining in, adding a few goals, coming on as a sub.
But today was a great day for him to get what proved to be the winning goal.
Yeah, so they're up to third place. They still have Liverpool to come to Old Trafford, Villa to come to Old Trafford. They go to Chelsea, who they've already beaten. It's very much in their hands. If they can go on and finish the job and, say, get the Champions League football,
Carrick gives the owners a very hard decision to make because if he doesn't get it, then whoever does get it is going to be under pressure straight away to hit the ground running next season.
