What is swagger and how is it defined as embodied self‑approval?
Okay, swagger has nothing to do with how you look or even how cool you are. The best news I have for you today is that swagger is a mindset, has everything to do with how you think about yourself, how you carry yourself, and how you approve of yourself. Because the people with the most magnetic energy in the room aren't usually the most personal. Perfect. You might think that they are, but it's their swagger that pulls you in, that draws you in, that's radiant, that's magnetizing. They're the most connected. They're not constantly uh abandoning themselves, mentally, attacking themselves. They're just free. They're confident. And if you want to feel that way, this episode is going to teach you everything that you need.
How to speak differently, how to enter rooms differently, and how to think differently about yourself because that swagger. People are gonna immediately, once you tap into this, they're gonna go, whoa. You're happier. Whoa, have you lost weight? What are you doing different? You won't have done anything different other than think differently about yourself and be able to carry yourself differently. Let's dive in. Welcome to the Confidence Podcast, your go-to space for high-performance coaching designed for ambitious, high-achieving individuals who want more out of life. You deserve the confidence that rises to meet your dreams. This podcast will help you activate it fully.
Why does self‑criticism destroy natural confidence and create disconnection?
I'm your host, Trish Blackwell. Let's get started. Hey, welcome to To the confidence podcast. If this is your first time listening, I'm so happy that you're here. My name is Trish Blackwell. I help high achievers achieve more, train their brain for confidence, boldness, and extraordinary lives. We are diving deep. This is episode 705, and we're talking about how to increase your inner swagger. I want to start by
How does unchecked negativity lead to comparison and overthinking?
Giving you the simplest form of swagger that I have come up with, the simplest definition of it. Once you know this definition, I think it will change the way you look at others. As you with every week, every Tuesday, I drop new episodes, as you know. And I always have a challenge, a takeaway that I want you to activate into your life and carry with you. And this week I want you to study. People. I want you to be aware of the people around you. I want you to be curious about who. who draws you in, who's magnetizing, whose presence is just radiant to be around. Like you know, there are certain people that you just feel better about yourself or you feel inspired being around them. Whether it's they're so cool or they're so uplifting or there's just like
the it factor. We're talking about the it factor. And I want you to study them with the context of what I'm going to share with you today and just be able to say, oh It's not that they have so much figured out. They just have Tapped into the swagger that Trish was talking about. And so what is the definition? This simple breakthrough definition I wanna promise you. Swagger is embodied self approval. Swagger is embodied self-approval. We're gonna break that apart. We're gonna dive deeper in this episode. We're also gonna go into why self-criticism destroys your swagger, your natural confidence, your unchecked negativity is going to disconnect you from yourself. And when you're disconnected from yourself, you're not self-embodied approval, you're not in connection with.
And you will get distracted by comparison and overthinking when you are emotionally disconnected. And most importantly, I'm gonna make sure I'm gonna give you some steps today on how to rebuild that kind of grounded self trust and em and and as we said, embodied self-approval so that you can create that magnetic energy. So uh let's talk about first, you know, why was I even thinking about this? Why swagger? If if this is episode seven hundred five, I've not yet done an episode on Swagger. Now I do have an episode, oh gosh. Just talking off the top of my head here, I want to say maybe 300 episodes ago on how to have the it factor, how to create an it factor. But we've never called the it factor swagger.
