What makes high achievers different from one another?
Not all high achievers are driven by the same thing. In fact, there are multiple variations and expressions of type A. Some people achieve because they love growth, some people achieve because they're terrified of slowing down. Some are fueled by purpose, some are fueled by proving energy, some are calm performers, some are anxious performers. And if you don't understand which type you are, you can accidentally build a successful life that emotionally exhausts you. And if you've ever wondered why certain goals feel harder than they should, this is an episode you're gonna want to listen to, especially if you identify as somebody who is driven, someone who is high achieving, or someone who's a type A.
Welcome to the Confidence Podcast, your go-to space for high-performance cooching designed for ambitious, high-achieving individuals who want more out of life. You deserve the confidence that rises to meet your dreams. This podcast will help you activate it fully. I'm your host, Trish Blackwell. Let's get started. Hey guys, welcome to the confidence podcast. I'm your host, Trish. Let's optimize how we're thinking. I am so happy. If this is your first time listening to the show, welcome. If you have listened to every single one, it is a privilege for me to be a voice of encouragement in your life. If you don't know who I am, I am a person who is passionate about helping high achievers. Train their minds. Train their minds.
Optimize their results and enjoy their lives more. To train your brain is one of the greatest skills that we can have. And it changes what is possible for you. So we train our brains and we train our belief here. Here's the reality: the high achievers often get lumped into one category: you're driven, you're ambitious, you're successful. But we're not all driven by the same thing. And I think it's a critical thing to understand. Also, we don't express our high achieving tendencies, our drive, our type A in the same way. And I just wanted to pause and break it all down. One, so that you feel understood. Two, so you can better understand yourself. And then three, so we can work better collaboratively without going, wait, why do you want to do it your way?
I think when you understand how other leaders and high achievers are wired and you know how you are, you can then better collaborate and work with them versus feel friction and conflict with them, whether you're neighbors with them in a group project or what might you might have you. In this episode, We're covering, I have categorized four types of high achievers, generally speaking. But before that, I wanted to actually break down. I think there's a types of expressions of type A. And uh this is going to be the where we start, even though probably makes more sense in the structure of how I would teach and do a podcast, just start with the archetypes first, but we're starting with type A because This whole concept came across because of an an an interaction I had with a neighbor.
I'm gonna tell you this story in just a minute, but I also want to let you know that in today's episode, if you listen to the end, I'm gonna give you some practical ways to create healthy healthier, more sustainable success so that you don't burn yourself out. Because the challenge is if you don't know what type of personality, what type of high achiever you are, then you won't know your what what you're avoiding or what your weaknesses are. So when we when we know ourselves, we can better coach ourselves. We can better optimize ourselves. But if you're just going, well, I'm just driven and we don't we just take it at at surface value, you'll you're losing out on a lot of opportunity. So Let me tell you why we're talking about this today.
I have a a wonderful neighbor. Now I talk about some of my neighbors and I love all my neighbors. Look a look, God has called us to love our neighbor. I love my neighbors. There's one neighbor who I really do enjoy. Our kids go to the same school. We have a lot in common. Uh I mean this is great. She's a she and her family are really nice neighbors.
