With the exact same 24 hours that are building their business, taking listings, recruiting agents, creating content, working out. being present with their family, and they still find time to grow. What's the difference? It's probably not time. I think it's decisions. And today I want to unpack A conversation from a recent call I had with business partner at Place Chris Suarez. That just hit me right between the eyes because he challenged one of the biggest lies that so many people tell themselves in this industry. I don't have time. And it's almost never about time. What's up everybody? Welcome back to Next Level Agents. I'm Kevin Kaufman. Today we're talking about something that affects truthfully every single person listening to this podcast, whether you're solo agent, team leader, broker owner,
Kevin Kauffman 1:41
Recruiter. Mortgage lender, entrepreneur, it doesn't matter. We're we're talking about time or more accurately. We're talking about the story we tell ourselves about time. Because if we're being honest, most of us don't actually have a time management problem. We have a decision management problem. And the second you understand that that distinction. changes everything about how you operate your business and how you operate your life.

How does Chris Suarez define the difference between “safe work” and revenue‑generating work?

Kevin Kauffman 2:08
So today I'm going to break down some of the insights I got from Chris from a recent place partners call on Friday. And I'm going to expand on them a little bit and hopefully give you a little framework that helps you stop feeling overwhelmed. And hopefully we'll make you feel like you can you can take control. You can maybe take control back. All right. So let's get into it. Again, time isn't the real problem, right? Chris said something on that call that I immediately wrote down. He said I don't have enough time is almost never about time. It's always about priorities. clarity and sometimes avoidance. Man, that that can be uncomfortable, right? Because I don't have time sounds innocent. We've all felt that way before.
Kevin Kauffman 2:50
Sounds external, like life happened to me. Like the calendar attacked you, right? But if we're honest, our calendars are usually always a reflection of our decisions. And listen, I'm not saying that that you're not busy. I'm not saying that life isn't hectic and chaotic at times or even most of the time. I've got kids. I I own multiple businesses. I got a team, a podcast, I travel. I've got commitments. I get it. But the agents who consistently produce at a high level are usually not working three times as many hours as everyone else. They're just making different decisions inside of those hours. That's the difference, right? And this is where it gets real because instead of asking where did all my time go?
Kevin Kauffman 3:37
A better question to ask is What did I say yes to that forced me to say no? to production or force me to say no to the thing that matters most. Right. That question can change everything because now we're talking about ownership.

What simple filter can I use to decide if an activity belongs in my highest‑value work hours?

Kevin Kauffman 3:53
Your schedule starts becoming evidence, evidence of what matters to you, evidence of what you avoid, evidence of what you value. And sometimes evidence of what you say you want versus what your behavior is actually supporting. I know that's hard to hear, but the It's the truth. Like it's true. If somebody tells me they want to sell fifty homes this year, but their calendar is filled with low value activities like reactive work, endless scrolling, tweaking their Canva graphics for three hours, playing in their CRM, updating their website or their Facebook page or
