Recorded live in Austin, Texas, USA. It's the William Montgomery Show. Starring William Montgomery. With the Tony Chin Orchestra. The William Montgomery Junior Dancers. This week, Rattlesnake Dave. A performance by the Great Gorbini. And a mysterious loaf of raisin bread. And now, here he is, the big red machine, the Memphis Strangler, William Montgomery!
Drew Nickens 0:39
Oh my gosh! Drew Nickens, thank you so much for being on the show today. We now have your microphone in order. And Drew, I must say, we just were speaking about this, but I gotta give you props. I thought you did wonderful on the Kill Tony last night. It had been a little while. It sounded like you had been out on the road grinding away... doing your spots, getting stronger, honing your abilities. And then how'd you feel?
William Montgomery 1:05
Pretty good last night? Yeah, it was a fun time. It was a tough, tough spot to be in, you know, with everything that happened before. But I can't give anything away. But I feel like it was a very good set, a great interview. That was the thing. Yes, interview was wonderful. You did great, too, because that wasn't an easy room.
Drew Nickens 1:26
Five o'clock, they don't... Yeah, five o'clock, and I've been going on at the beginning, which is an absolute dream of mine, because then I can just relax and watch the rest of the show. But yes, at 5 p.m., and then they call my name, and it sounds like... Nobody's really clapping or anything, which people don't need to be clapping when they call my dumb ass name. But generally people are. So I'm thinking, oh, that's a little maybe it's a low key crowd right now at 5 p.m.
William Montgomery 1:50
Yeah, they didn't even clap for the guest. And it's one of the biggest comedians in the world.
Drew Nickens 1:55
I know. I know. So, yes, that's just what can happen sometimes doing the two shows. And there's an early show. Sometimes that can happen. I did one one time, Drew, have you performed in Chicago yet at any of the clubs in Chicago? Well, you will at some point.

How did Drew Nickens perform on Kill Tony?

Drew Nickens 2:10
But I remember on a Saturday I had to do a extra show at like 4 p.m. And I was real nervous about that, thinking, oh, shit, I got to do these three shows and especially the one as a. Early, I'm just going to get a bunch of old people like this picture. It's just going to be a bunch of old people in the freaking audience. But it's it was OK. But yes, that's what can happen. But you did great. And I thought we had a fun kind of connecting point. It doesn't really give anything away. But about Mr. Blippi.
William Montgomery 2:38
I love that show. I don't like the new Blippi. There's controversy there.
Drew Nickens 2:43
Yeah, there's controversy there. And Grant, did you even know that before you were speaking about it a little bit ago? Did you know there's controversy with the new Blippi, the old Blippi kind of silently going away, and then he gets this new guy as a stand-in, and I assume the old Blippi's still making that money.
Grant 2:59
This is all new to me. In fact, these two look like two new Blippis. Neither of those is the original Blippi.
Drew Nickens 3:07
Oh, you are right. Oh, my gosh. I was going off of what your ass was saying. So that so these are both two new ones, because remember last night we were getting information and it sounded like there were, in fact, two new ones. I'm wondering if this old one is still even with us on this earth anymore.
Grant 3:22
That old one had some controversy to him, too, though, if you guys remember. Oh, well, I mean, yeah, he did some weird videos. He had some scat video thing going on.
Drew Nickens 3:32
You're kidding. The original Blippi? I thought you were just joking around and we were going to bring up the Epstein list, how he was on the Epstein list. But no, it's.
Grant 3:40
No, he did some the Harlem Shake video, but it was like people like shitting on camera or something.
Drew Nickens 3:46
Oh, well, that makes it, I think, a little more normal. I didn't know if it was just shitting on video, but as long as he added the Harlem shake, I think that makes it maybe a little less strange.
William Montgomery 3:56
2016 was the best year ever.
Drew Nickens 4:00
Yeah, 2016 was cool. It was before the pandemic. I was washing dishes in Denver, Colorado. Madly in love with one of my coworkers doing pushups every time I go into the bathroom.
