Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Recorded live in Austin, Texas, USA. It's the William Montgomery Show. Starring William Montgomery. With the Tony Chin Orchestra. The William Montgomery Junior Dancers. This week, Rattlesnake Dave. A performance by the Great Gorbini. And a mysterious loaf of raisin bread. And now, here he is, the big red machine, the Memphis Strangler, William Montgomery!
Yeah, Grant, oh my gosh, I discovered there was this random subreddit that came up on my Reddit. And by the way, I think I'm going to start deleting some of these, the subs, because I like Reddit, but then I start getting on just general news stuff, and I don't know.
I just don't, I think I want no part of that, because I go in the comments, I upvote stuff, I downvote stuff, which is probably psycho in and of itself. I never say anything, but it's probably psycho just doing upvotes and downvotes. I don't know, maybe a little bit.
I don't know. Or maybe not.
Maybe it's fun. Maybe it's I'm engaging with the community and that's positive.
You're adding to the community in your own way. I feel like that's still engagement, even if you're not commenting all the time. Do you get on Reddit? I do. I actually just made it. Do you post stuff? I just made a subreddit for my little podcast thing I do.
Oh my gosh, what's it called so people can follow it? What is it?
It's Hello Crawlers. We've talked about it a while back, but I talk about a book series called Dungeon Crawler Carl. Yes, yes, yes. And yeah, I made a little subreddit for it.
Oh, that's exciting. When did you do that? Like last night? Like two days ago, three days ago. Yeah. Is that hard creating one? You just get on there and there's a place where you can just create one?

Chapter 2: What Reddit rabbit holes does William explore?
Yeah. It only took a few steps. And then once I had it up, I was like, I don't know what I'm doing with this. So I asked a couple of the listeners in the community if anyone might help out with moderating and a couple of people jumped on. I was like, oh, good. Oh, my gosh. You guys helped me out with that. So.
Well, that's very exciting. I love it.
But yeah, I love Reddit for its good and its bad. I think it's just a crazy collection of interesting little sub-communities.
I know. I love the different sub-communities. And one of them that came up, WinWonWalnuts. And the win one, I think, is the Chinese word and has something to do with just literally doing the walnuts in your hands. And Grant, I've got a couple of pairs of these things and I will sit for hours at a time doing them around in my hands because they feel good. It's like a hand massager kind of thing.
Oh, like like Chinese Chinese medicine balls. Is that what they're called?
Yeah, it's probably something like that. Is that something? It's probably like that, but it's like a natural walnut. And I guess maybe there's different types of the walnuts.
I remember back in the 90s, late 90s, it was like this big thing that everywhere you'd go, they were selling those little silver balls that had like a little ringing, dingling thing. Oh, yeah, and you'd flip it around in your hand. Yeah, yeah. Is that essentially what you're doing with walnuts?
Yes. Yes. It's like a texture thing. Yes. And you have to get a brush and you got to brush on them and they start developing this kind of dark red color because they start out as kind of a beige color. And then the more you handle it, all the sweat and oil in your hand gets on the things and you brush them.
And Grant, I've been doing it for, I don't know, a couple of hours every day for the past two weeks for a couple of them. I love it. Like you're building up a patina on them? Exactly. See, that is the goal right there. That is what they could look like. Apparently, that's what it shows online. I don't know if that's a lie because you think that looks a little different. Why are you laughing?

Chapter 3: What are meditation walnuts and how are they used?
And since that's what I've done, I don't like their opinion, even though maybe they're correct. But they keep on referencing somebody that you're supposed to get your walnuts from somebody from Beijing. Yeah. And somebody was like, oh, well, maybe I should just get a walnut tree and grow it at my house over here.
And then somebody was like, oh, you'll never be able to do that because they cost so much money and it's impossible to get shavings of the trees because they block the trees off with fences and people with guns. And I'm like, what are y'all talking about? But I keep reading it and I keep doing them in my hand as I'm reading this shit. I'm thinking, how can I get over those fences?
I got to get over to Beijing and somehow figure out how to take over one of these walnut farms.
I love it. I love what I'm learning today.
Oh, my gosh. Well, Grant, I'm going to bring them next week. I'm weird that I didn't even bring them this week because I promise you they are the best feeling thing. And I wonder, apparently they've been doing it in China since the 18th century or something. And I never heard of this.
You would have thought this would have already been some sort of fad in America or something by now, since everybody loves messing around with the fidget spinners and shit.
Right, right. But maybe there's less money to be made unless there's like some pet rock kind of markup on walnuts. Just, oh, these are meditation walnuts.
Yes. Meditation walnuts. That's what they call them, I think. So that is kind of like a pet rock. Yeah. And I, on the website where I got them, there was, I got a couple of just these cheap, they weren't that much money, but I saw one on there that was like a thousand dollars. And I think, what? Yeah. Has some ancient master been using these for like centuries? I don't know.
And then I get on eBay and I start looking on eBay. And sure enough, there's ones that are just so expensive. But it sounds like you got to be really careful because they can just put them in the rock tumblers and make them look like they're real old. So be careful if you're getting into wind one. Be careful. The stolen valor.

Okay. From $324. You've got to be kidding me. First off, I would have thought lady Gaga stuff, uh, It's more expensive. But look, you can go see Lady Gaga on March 8th, okay?
That is going to be very exciting. George Strait, you know I'm getting those tickets from GameTime.co. Ariana Grande, Grant, I'm going to make a sign for that one. Are you going to make your sign?
Yeah, we got to have matching signs.
Are we going to go together? And then, oh my gosh, third day is at the Moody's that are from $36. Yes, I'm getting that. I'm copying that from GameTime.co. Grant. And oh, maybe a little football.
Maybe a little bit of going to the pitch. Maybe a little bit of that.
Oh my gosh. And Grant, we can drink there together. But see, this is where we have got to get the tickets. Okay. And you can also get zone deals. What? Yeah, I need to start wearing dark maybe because the light, the royal blue is like a nightmare on me today. Well, Cody, wonderful to talk to you. Oh, my gosh. Chapter 5: What freight shipping disasters has William encountered?
Yeah.
Because the other. Let's see. Let's see if this person joins. Be ready. Be ready, guys. Oh, we got someone, I think.
Oh, my gosh.
Hello? Do you hear us? Hello? Cole Fish. What's up, dude? No way.
Oh my gosh. How are you? Dude, I'm doing pretty good. How are you? Oh, cool. Doing well. Just sweating like a motherfucker in their new chairs over here. And I'm, where are you? It looks like you're out in the country somewhere. Were you in Africa? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I just saw your truck at the beginning with like the wire on the back and I'm thinking, oh damn, where is his ass?
Yeah, Africa. No, I'm in Nashville, dude.
How is it over there? What are you doing in Nashville today? It looks like a nice day today. Yeah, it's a beautiful day. I'm landscaping, working. Oh, nice. I love it. That sounds good.
My pussy at Coalfish, when I was living in Denver, Colorado, there was a tough point in time where I was kind of in between a bunch of jobs after I was washing dishes, after I got this big wart on my hand and I just had to leave the dishwashing pit. And I did the freaking, I did landscaping one day, Coalfish, and I just hadn't been working out a lot recently.
And I ended up with these hard, it was basically, I was shoveling rocks.

Chapter 6: What are the details of the puzzle competition mentioned?
That's totally, that's all above anything, any knowledge I would have, but I would, my guess would be no.
Have you guys seen some of the people that get on here? Who would schedule these people?
Right, right, right. For sure. Yes. There are certain people, man, there was some, I'm not going to say anything, but there was somebody last night that I was watching that it was the wildest story, most sickening stories I've ever heard out of somebody.
Yeah.
And it seemed like he was doing really good. So I'm sure he'd see some more. But oh, my, my Lanta. It was an insane stuff I've never even thought about. And I don't want to think about, but I'm now thinking about it right now. Just horrible shit.
this person was saying i was blown away by the sickening depravity of it all i can that's saying that's saying something coming from your ass yeah well it it is because it was unlike anything i'd ever heard before and it all sounded genuine and true which made it even more shocking uh so gosh uh hey uh i know i know you need to go but i wanted to ask you one thing yeah one more question
So why are you a Florida Gators fan?
Because on my father's side of the family, my grandparents, Francis and Grandpa, they grew up in – they lived in Gainesville. And on my grandmother's side, they were from Gainesville from, like, the late 1800s. And I had, I think, a great-grandfather who was a teacher at Florida. Yeah. So growing up, they would send Florida Gator stuff in the mail starting as a little boy.
So as a little boy, I was totally groomed. And it's so funny because I grew up hating Tennessee because Tennessee and Florida are such bitter rivals, especially in the 90s and 2000s. I would say they were pretty bitter rivals. Right. So I grew up hating Tennessee, but then I got in-state tuition to go to Tennessee, and then I had just a wonderful time in Knoxville. So I totally am a Vols fan.
